Blue Train

雪国 Yukiguni

I am kindda regretting not putting Yukiguni's first album pothos in my top 10 last year, but it was really tough to choose, it is what it is.

And just half a year later, they're releasing the equally excellent EP Lemuria, and the vocalist 京英一 Eiichi Kyo releasing his own acoustic album 放心 Houshin.

Jyo

君島大空 Ohzora Kimishima

It's still really hard for me to describe, or to pinpoint, what exactly about these glitchy, off-kilter, weird pop songs that I like so much. The rest of the EP 音のする部屋 Otonosuruheya is also pretty good, but this opening track definitely the most outstanding one for me.

I'm also looking forward to Mao Sasagawa's new EP for more off-kilter pop, which will also feature Ohzora Kimishima on track 1 on guitars.

a new Lovely Summer Chan EP we're so back

Beautiful Shapes (feat. パソコン音楽クラブ)

白迦 paica

I do like that Pasocom Music Club is making more tracks with this mellow, night time vibe (similar to their previous Empty feat. Le Makeup). There's just something about the pulsing beats, the reverb on the synths, it's not much but I really love it.

It's also interesting to see that paica, who I thought is just some random obscure utaite, manages to put up an event with Pasocom, KAIRUI, safmusic and more.

Spica

水中スピカ Suichu Spica

Suichu Spica is probably the most talked-about Japanese maths rock band atm, thanks to their newest album Lux

Even thought this MV released back in December, this 7 minutes highlight of a track is so good, I can't believe I missed it last year?

Fill My Empty Soul x Hey Darling Darling

這個世界也許沒有那麼樣的喜歡你

凌潮

From an indie Taiwanese Vsinger. This song is a quintessential Taiwan song for me: math rocky, some orchestral strings, emtional, dramatically so, and a hanging ending that leaves you wanting for more.

laura day romance

My favourite album the moment, and definitely my top 10 album this year.

It's not much, repetitive even, but I just really love the slow, gradual build up, into the mix of full, saturating sounds, that makes me feel very warm, very nostalgic, and longing for more.

I wouldn't mind listening to more of this same indie rock sound.

Asa

こがれ KOGARE

Just released their first album in January.
